Product

The main design characteristics of product are:

  • The performance of the product meets the National Standard GB/T 1094.6 and the International Standards of IEC; ANSI; IEEE and other standards as required by specific customers.
  • The conductor used in the dry type air core reactor is a custom designed and produced wire or cable. The conductor size and insulation type is specifically designed according to the customers’ specifications. This ability ensures maximum flexibility in design and manufacturing which in turn ensures optimal overall performance of the final product.
  • This product uses epoxy impregnated fiber glass package structure to encapsulate the conductor. The combination of horizontal and vertical fiber glass package structure achieves a high mechanical strength which ensures reduced vibration of the reactor. Using low rate water absorption epoxy curing agent to improve the mechanical strength of dry type air core reactor and the glass transition temperature of the package, ensures that the reactor will maintain its high mechanical strength under the permitted operating temperature.
  • The cable insulation of this product is custom designed to strengthen the integrity of the coil, minimize turn to turn voltage stress levels, prevent any moisture ingress and improve the overall reliability of insulation system of the reactor.
  • All current carrying components of this product are of aluminum construction. The individual conductors are crimped and welded together. All conductor terminations are then welded to the aluminum bus bars which from the top and bottom spider arms of the reactor. The axial voltage across the terminals is uniformly distributed and the radial actual voltage is essentially zero.
  • In order to reduce the loss of the reactor, various cable specifications are designed which use special materials and manufacturing processes. A well designed low loss reactor will operate at a low temperature rise and therefore allow for overload capacity and ensure long service life.
  • This product can be provided with the appropriate steel or fiberglass support structure required to raise the reactor above ground for human safety clearances while providing the proper magnetic clearance between reactor and ground.
  • This product uses a custom engineered support structure. The special reinforced structure does not significantly increase the overall weight but is able to reduce dimensions and number of insulators required to meet the specification.

Classification of Dry air core reactor

According to the connection:Parallel connection,Series connection.

According to the application:shunt reactor, thyristor controlled reactor, current limiting reactor, smoothing reactor, filter reactor, damping reactor ,test reactor, line trap, etc.

1. Shunt reactor:Reactor is connected to the power system between the phase and ground, phase and neutral point, phase and phase, and provides reactive power.

2. Thyristor controlled reactor:Composed of reactor and thyristor, it is a static reactive power device that is parallel with the system and is used to compensate the reactive power of the system. This is achieved by controlling the conduction angle of the thyristor valve, to make the equivalent impedance change continuously.

3. Current-limiting reactor:Reactor is in series in the power system to limit short circuit current or fault current of the system.

4. Smoothing reactor:The reactor is in series with high voltage DC converter station or a transmission line or part of a back-to-back interconnection between different transmission networks. The smoothing reactor will reduce the harmonic current of DC line, limit the inrush current when a fault occurs, limit the DC phase current rate of rise and improve the dynamic stability of power system.

5. Filter reactor:The reactor is in parallel or series with capacitor bank to make a tuned filter circuit which reduces the harmonic current or controls the amplitude of the ripple current.

6.  Damping reactor:The reactor is series connected with one or more capacitor banks to limit the capacitor switching inrush current and is designed to withstand the rated current and the fault current in the event of a short circuit.

7. Test reactor: Test reactors are installed in high voltage and high power laboratories. The typical applications include current limiting, circuit breaker synthetic testing, the inductive energy storage and simulation circuits and many more. Its characteristic is short circuit current in short time, in a short period of time have multiple working cycles

8. Line trap:Line Traps are connected in series with high voltage and ultra-high voltage ac power lines to introduce high impedance in the carrier frequency range of 40 KHZ to 500 KHZ, with negligible impedance at the power frequency. The high impedance ensures that the carrier signal is not lost or attenuated into the substation or due to tapped transmission line.
